ESA astronaut Michel Tognini visits Speyer
The first space traveller for 2023
On Saturday, 25 March, French ESA astronaut Michel Tognini visited the Technik Museum Speyer to give a talk about his two space missions.
Michel Tognini flew to the Russian space station Mir in 1992 and into space on board the American space shuttle Columbia in 1999. From May 2003 to December 2004, Tognini was ESA's chief astronaut and thus head of the astronaut department at the European Astronaut Centre (EAC).
From January 2005 to 1 November 2011, the Frenchman was Director of the European Astronaut Centre (EAC) in Cologne.
