Fascination Tuning - VW vs Opel

We opened our new special exhibition ‘Fascination Tuning - VW vs. Opel’ in Sinsheim with great success. The event offered a unique blend of nostalgia, automotive culture and celebration that delighted visitors and lenders alike.

The opening show began with a symbolic chain-cutting ceremony to mark the start of the exhibition. Accompanied by rousing music from the 80s and 90s and culinary classics such as Toast Hawaii, the atmosphere of the tuning subculture of the time was brought to life. The 32 vehicles on display were of course a particular highlight, impressively documenting the rivalry and creativity of the VW and Opel tuning scene. The lenders, whose passion was evident in every detail of the vehicles, were just as enthusiastic about the exhibition and the successful supporting programme as the numerous visitors. A great start to an exhibition that celebrates the fascination of tuning in all its facets.

Until 13 September 2026, the exhibition presents an impressive range of lovingly preserved, factory-tuned originals through to highly modified tuning vehicles from both brands, with a focus on the stars of the manufacturers: VW Golf and Opel Kadett/Astra. Each vehicle tells its own story of passion, innovation and the pursuit of individual perfection. Be inspired by additional models such as the VW Scirocco and Corrado as well as the Opel models Manta and Calibra. This exhibition is a must for tuning enthusiasts and car lovers.

We invite you to be enchanted by the fascinating world of tuning and to experience the unique fusion of technology, art and passion. The special exhibition will be continuously expanded over the next two years so that all 100 CARsting winners will be on display by 2026. To accompany the new exhibition, we are planning special events on the subject of tuning for the coming year, above all ‘Fascination Tuning - VW vs Opel: The Meeting’
