Ostalgie meeting
A journey through the history of Eastern European automotive engineering.

While U17 was anchored at the Old Bridge in Heidelberg and thrilled the crowds, numerous participants and visitors gathered in Sinsheim to marvel at historic vehicles, including Trabant, Wartburg and GAZ, as well as rare two-wheelers from the former Eastern Bloc countries. The owners proudly presented their vehicles built before 1991 and were available to talk shop with visitors. A highlight of the day was the ‘photo point’ in front of the LADA police car. The atmosphere was characterised by friendship, exchange and a shared enthusiasm for history and technology from Eastern Europe. The Ostalgie Treffen was a complete success again this year and once again showed how lively the interest in this special time and its cultural assets is. There will be a reunion on 27 July 2025.
