Opening of special exhibition
Legends on wheels - pioneering spirit, innovation, tradition

Just a few weeks after the opening of the colourful special exhibition in Sinsheim, we unlocked the hall doors of the Raumfahrthalle for the special exhibition in Speyer. Shortly before Christmas, we opened ‘Legends on Wheels - Pioneering Spirit, Innovation, Tradition’ with a small horn concert - it is the first exhibition to show the entire range of Mercedes-Benz Trucks commercial vehicles outside the plants and the Mercedes-Benz Museum.

From 21 December 2024, the special exhibition will show the fascinating history of the development of freight transport, which began with the groundbreaking inventions of Gottlieb Daimler and Carl Benz at the end of the 19th century. In cooperation with Mercedes-Benz Trucks Classic, a total of 18 extraordinary commercial vehicles from the years 1899 to 2024 will be on display until 5 March 2026.

The exhibition offers unique highlights such as the Daimler Kardan truck from 1899 (which will be completely overhauled during the exhibition), versatile Unimogs, the innovative ‘millipede’ LP 333 and the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025. Organised thematically and chronologically, it makes the history of motorised freight transport tangible. Visitors can experience these impressive vehicles in the centre of the ‘Apollo and Beyond’ exhibition, which comprises Europe's largest collection on manned space travel.

Even more historic commercial vehicles can be experienced live at the Technik Museum Sinsheim in September.
